How to Join
Hispanic Initiative
Reaching out to girls, bridging cultures, building bright futures…
The Hispanic Initiative focuses on reaching out to under-represented segments of our population so that all girls can benefit from the Girl Scout experience while simultaneously enhancing the Girl Scout mosaic. This initiative includes girls ages 5-17.
Growing up can be difficult. Growing up in a new culture can be even more of a challenge. The Girl Scouts’ Hispanic Initiative is helping Hispanic girls overcome these challenges as girls build a bright future. In a safe and friendly environment, we talk about what it means to be bilingual and bicultural. Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta's Hispanic Initiative works with all levels of Hispanic girls together with trained and bilingual and non-bilingual leaders, to provide the Girl Scout program.
A strong partnership with schools, community agencies and the Hispanic media is the core of the Hispanic Initiative development. Collaboration with different agencies allows us to let the Latino community know about our program and recruit girls and leaders.
