It seems like a simple question. But think about it. Every day of your life begins FILLED with possibilities! What will you do with it? Will you hang out at the mall? Spend hours texting your friends? Or will you discover new things about yourself? Things you didn’t know you could do? Will you make your life better? Will you make the world better? Or will the day just come and go?

Join us for an incredible opportunity. Challenge your fears...and win! Camp CEO is beyond your ordinary Career Workshop!

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta is excited to announce a new, exciting program – Camp CEO where our goal is to bring together teen Girl Scouts and executive women leaders to create an environment for girls to discover what it takes to become a Chief Executive Officer. We will invite interesting, fun and accomplished business women to participate in Camp CEO. Girl participants in Camp CEO can expect to hear business women share their personal and professional story, all in an effort to give girl participants roadmaps to be successful women. Over the course of Camp CEO, programs will be built around the themes of team building, personal well-being, professional skills, projecting a positive image, personal financial savvy and career planning. Girls will participate in a variety of activities, which may include yoga, self-defense, career building, networking and more. Only twenty-four girls will be selected to participate in this 1st Annual Camp CEO at Camp Timber Ridge, in Mableton, Georgia.

GEICO

DASHboard Road Safety Patch Program

For Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors

It may come as a surprise to many that traffic accidents are the number one cause of death among teens. Moving vehicles pose more of a threat than guns, suicide or disease. Mile for mile, teenagers are involved in three times as many fatal accidents as all other drivers, and hundreds of thousands of teens are injured in traffic accidents each year.

For the above reasons, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, in partnership with GEICO, has created the DASHboard Road Safety Patch Program for Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors.  The program addresses a variety of road safety topics - everything from distracted driving to car maintenance to road safety careers. Find out how YOU can make a difference on the road by earning the DASHboard Road Safety patch.

Download the DASHboard Road Safety Patch Program activity booklet here.

The following documents are worksheets that correspond with specific activities listed in the activity booklet.  You can pick up a hard copy of all of these documents from the Atlanta Service Center.

Girl Scouts partner with Microsoft for online safety

Learn how you can get the first ever
Girl Scout digital patch!

The LMK ("let me know") is an online safety campaign created in partnership with Girl Scouts of the USA and Microsoft. With the escalating popularity, increasing access to the

internet and online technologies, it is important for teens and parents to be aware of the dangers that exist in cyberspace. The LMK campaign not only creates a space for internet safety experts and teen peer advisors, it also provides guidance about topics like cyberbullying and online sexual predators. The adult components of the campaign help teens to bridge the digital generation gap between themselves and their parents.

The campaign includes an interactive Web site for teens, as well as an e-newsletter and Web site for adults.

Being online, texting and IMing are a part of your life. You probably understand how the internet works better than your parents do. LMK was created by the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. in partnership with Windows to help you change the world every time you go online. Empower yourself so that you can educate others on the reality of being a teen online and help adults understand the real issues that affect you every day. LMK will provide you with the know-how to safely navigate your online life and even help your parents to understand it.

Go ahead: explore the site! Check out online safetly tips, take a quiz on how much you know about social networking, become and expert on cyberbullying, test your knowledge about online sexual preditors, meet the girls that make up the editorial team join a forum and so much more!

Join the network and learn how you, your friends and your parents can take advantage of all the great things technology has to offer...and do it safely!

Check out an interview about LMK with Jamie Joyce from GSUSA and “Health & Home Report.”
