Aquatic Showcase  

Are you ready for a water filled day? Come learn about our Aquatic Series coming up in 2011. Try out your skills at Sailing, Windsurfing, Kayaking, Canoeing and Kneeboarding. Spend the day connecting with others and planning your activities for the Spring. Bring your sack lunch and a drink.

Location: Camp Pine Acres, Acworth
Fee: $25 per girl; FREE adult/ program supplies, staff leadership and snack, full payment is due with registration

Participants: Min. 20/max. 50, adults are limited to Safety-Wise ratio plus one

Saddles and Paddles Day Event  

Saddle up and dive into a horse and water weekend! Girls will enjoy paddle time in a kayak and canoe; lake journeys on the pontoon boat; and time at the barn horseback riding, grooming and tacking. Adults may choose one lake activity to participate in. An adult must attend with an individual. Lunch and snack will be served. Small group lessons are not offered with the day option.

Eat, Breath, Love Journey Workshop   – NEW

Want to earn your Bronze, Silver and Gold Award but you don’t think you can get the prerequisite Journey completed? Well the Eat Breathe Love Workshop will get you 75% of the way through your Journey, so you can then concentrate on the Take Action project that your team develops—and giving you the rest of this Girl Scout year 10/1/10-9/30/11 to complete the steps to earn your High Level Award. The Workshops will help you discover more about Our Planet—and Love It Too!

Troops, Tents and Trails – Troop Resident Camping   – NEW

Troop Leaders, here is your chance to enjoy camp with your girls without all the planning pressures. Bring your troop to enjoy all the fun of resident camp! Camp provides the activities and meals while you provide the transportation and supervision. Each troop must travel with a first aider, and be troop camp or platform tent trained. Troops must follow Safety-Wise adult to girl ratios (2 adults minimum). You and your girls will enjoy living in platform tents, swimming, boating, arts and crafts and campfires as you are a part of the resident camp program. Horseback riding is available for an additional fee.

Saddle up and dive into a horse and water weekend! Girls will enjoy paddle time in a kayak and canoe; lake journeys on the pontoon boat; and time at the barn horseback riding, grooming and tacking. Girls may pay an additional fee of $20 for a small group lesson lasting one hour (tacking and riding). Turn this in with your registration. Small group lessons may take place on Sunday morning. Adults may pick one lake activity to participate in. Cabin units are available for an additional fee of $5 per participant. Indicate on your application if your troop would like to request a tent or cabin unit.

Fee: $80 per girl; $35 per adult/ includes a patch, horseback riding lesson, barn lessons, four meals and lake activities $50 non-refundable deposit due with registration, balance due upon receipt of confirmation
Registration: Begins July 6, 2010; ends August 6, 2010; use Application/Reservation for Troop Camping to register, write Saddles and Paddles Weekend at the top
Participants: Min. 100/max. 150, adults are limited to Safety-Wise ratios plus one
Adult training required: First aid/CPR and Outdoors and S’mores or Platform tent camping with FB/OC

Leader Daughter Retreat   – NEW

Spend a weekend connecting with your daughter at camp. Plan to swim, make crafts, canoe and more with your Girl Scout. Saturday afternoon, while leaders participate in enrichment activities, girls will lend Mom a hand and try out new ideas for their troop. Meals we be served in the air-conditioned dining hall. Cabin units are available for an additional fee of $5 per participant. Indicate on your application if your troop would like to request a platform tent or cabin unit.
